Official doc says that hostname must be specified.

The hostname option only matters inside a docker container. A rabbitmq will use this hostname to save messages. A docker will make random hostname when omitting the option.

docker run -d --hostname my-rabbit --name ourcompanylunchrabbitmq -p 15672:15672 -p 5671:5671 -p 5672:5672 rabbitmq:3
